Fuerza Regida claims its first top 10 on the Top Latin Albums chart (dated July 20) as Del Barrio Hasta Aquí, the band’s debut studio album, rockets 19-8. The group is just the third regional Mexican act to reach the top 10 in 2019.
"It feels so good! I never imagined being on a Billboard chart,” Jesus Ortiz, lead vocalist, tells Billboard. “I know this is just the beginning. We are here to work hard and continue to deliver the best to our fans who are the ones always supporting us!”
The quartet earns the Greatest Gainer honors of the week following Del Barrio’s first full chart tracking week of activity (4,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending July 11, up 92%, mostly attributed to streaming activity). Del Barrio was released Thursday, July 4 (instead of on a Friday, when albums are traditionally issued).
The set’s songs collected 5.4 million on-demand audio streams in the week ending July 11.
The Top Latin Albums chart ranks the most popular Latin albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
“Sigo Chambeando," one of two singles released as a live track prior to the release of the album, also secures a spot on the Regional Mexican Songs airplay chart top 10, with a 13-8 lift.
Notably, Fuerza Regida is the only regional Mexican act in the Top Latin Albums chart’s top 10. The only other two regional Mexican acts to secure a spot in the top 10 of the Top Latin Albums chart in 2019 are Selena (Ones; Jan. 5-Jan. 12, Feb. 9, Feb. 23, March 9-23, April 6-27) and Christian Nodal (Me Dejé Llevar Jan. 5, Jan. 19-Feb. 23, March 09-16, and Ahora; May 25).
Concurrently, Del Barrio spends a second week at No. 1 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart.
