Iggy Azalea's long-awaited sophomore album is finally on the way. The "Savior" rapper took to Instagram on Monday (June 24) to officially announce her In My Defense LP, which is slated to arrive July 19.
The 29-year-old hasn't released an album since her commercially successful The New Classic debut back in 2014. It's been a treacherous journey for Iggy to get to this point in her career, which included parting ways with Island Records, public breakups, photo leaks and more.
In My Defense will be available for pre-order on Friday. Azalea also unveiled the album's striking cover art, which features the Aussie soaked in blood on the side of her car while still wearing a glistening silver dress. Blood is even splattered over the side of the car, as a red light luminates from the blacktop of the open parking lot.
"It’s a statement about women not having the ability to defend themselves under public gaze,” she explained of the artwork's inspiration on Twitter. Azalea launched into her new era of music with singles "Sally Mae" and "Started" during the first half of 2019.
