Two of country's strongest voices are teaming up on a track, and Miranda Lambert couldn't wait until midnight to spread the word about her new Wildcard of a collaboration.
On Sunday (Aug. 25), Lambert -- who's been teasing songs off Wildcard, her forthcoming album due out Nov. 1 -- posted a photo of her and Maren Morris smiling side by side. They're set to release "Way Too Pretty for Prison," their first collaboration, just after the clock strikes midnight on Aug. 26.
Several of Lambert and Morris' friends and loved ones were quick to show their support of the development, including Brandi Carlile, Morris' bandmate in The Highwomen, Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town and Ryan Hurd, Morris husband (who finds the song "pretty damn cool" and joked that Lambert cut him out of the photo she used for the announcement).
"Way Too Pretty for Prison" follows "It All Comes Out in the Wash," Lambert's first single in over a year.
Morris will join Lambert on the last leg of her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars tour in Charlottesville on Nov. 6. The tour wraps at the Maui Songwriters Festival on Dec. 5.
