The 2019 Latin American Music Awards are just around the corner. On Wednesday (Sept. 4), Telemundo unveiled the nominations for this year’s music event. Ozuna leads with 9, then Bad Bunny (8), Romeo Santos (8), and Anuel AA (7). They're joined by other nominees such as Daddy Yankee, Karol G, Christian Nodal, Maluma, Banda MS, and Natti Natasha.
Twenty of the hottest songs of the year have also made the list in categories such as favorite pop, favorite regional Mexican, favorite urban, and favorite tropical. Going up for the song of the year award are Bad Bunny and Drake’s “Mia,” DJ Snake featuring Selena Gomez, Ozuna, Cardi B’s “Taki Taki,” Daddy Yankee featuring Snow’s “Con Calma,” Pedro Capó and Farruko’s “Calma (Remix),” and “Ella Quiere Bebe” by Anuel and Romeo.
Unlike other hits that landed nods, such as Reik and Maluma’s “Amigos Con Derechos,” Aventura’s “Inmortal,” and T3r Elemento featuring Gerardo Ortiz’s Aerolínea Carrillo,” each track up for song of the year received two nominations.
In celebration of the upcoming awards, Billboard put together the ultimate Latin AMAs playlist featuring the 20 nominated jams.
The fifth annual Latin AMAs will air live at 8:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, Oct. 17, from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The awards show will be preceded by a one-hour red carpet pre-show called “La Alfombra de Latin AMAs,” kicking off at 7:00 p.m. ET.
