Kany Garcia, Go-Go’s, Don Felder & more perform at ASCAP’s “We Write the Songs”

On Tuesday, the ASCAP Foundation and Library of Congress jointly presented the annual "We Write the Songs" event at Coolidge's historic auditorium in the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The event was organized by the director of the music division of the Library of Congress, Susan H. Vita, and the president of the ASCAP Foundation, Paul Williams, and included performances by several of the main composers and authors of ASCAP.  Puerto Rican artist Kany Garcia had the honor of presenting her work as a composer for the first time in this important event together with Charlotte Caffey and Jane Wiedlin of The Go-Go's ("Our Lips Are Sealed," "We Got the Beat"), Don Felder ("Hotel California," "Victim of Love"), Felix Cavaliere ("Beautiful Morning," "People Gotta Be Free"), Andrea Martin ("Breathe") and composer Siddhartha Khosla (television series This Is Us).

Coastcity will open for Pedro Capo

Coastcity has been confirmed as the opening act on select dates for Pedro Capó’s U.S. Calma Tour, launching Friday in Miami, at The Fillmore. “We are so honored to be opening up for our longtime friend and colleague Pedro,” says Jean Rodriguez. The Calma Tour will visit Orlando and Tampa, Fla.; Philadelphia,; Washington, D.C.; and Houston and San Antonio, Texas. “We can’t wait to be on the road with him,” Rodríguez added.

Maffio inks deal with Sony Music Latin

Maffio has signed an exclusive contract with Sony Music Latin Central America as producer and artist. The Dominican artist made the official announcement on social media, posting, "It is an honor to be part of the Sony family, they understand my vision of bringing urban music to new levels and I know that there will be a lot of success in this union." His productions will also be distributed by the multinational label.

Piso 21 conquers fans in Germany

Piso 21 had an emotional concert in Germany. The Colombian band shared on Instagram a video clip from their first concert in the European country, but the fans were so excited that the Piso members couldn’t leave the stage.
